In this video, All-Japan light featherweight champion Tomoyuki Hashimoto shows how to submit your opponent with a straight footlock from the de la riva guard. Representing the Carpe Diem jiu-jitsu team in Tokyo, black belt Hashimoto developed the technique after watching Caio Terra use it with success.

Hashimoto recently employed the technique to win gold at the 18th All-Japan Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu championship in Tokyo, beating Shimon Kagiyama in the final.

Watch the clip of Hashimoto winning gold below, then scroll down to learn from Hashimoto himself on how to add this technique to your game. Special thanks to Yuki Ishikawa for the help in making these videos.
