Grappling superstar Mackenzie Dern is now a 4-0 undefeated MMA fighter, and the next chapter of her career is upon us. On Monday afternoon, the IBJJF world champion told the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani that she has signed a new deal with Zuffa-backed female-only promotion Invicta FC and will take on Kaline Medeiros on Dec. 8.

Medeiros is an 8-5 Invicta and Bellator MMA veteran who is most recently coming off a decision loss to Angela Hill for the strawweight title at Invicta FC 20 last November. Medeiros will be by far the most accomplished fighter that Dern has faced off against, although Medeiros is only a purple belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

Dern's goal has always been to fight for the UFC, and her signing with Invicta FC undoubtedly brings her one step closer.
