Gordon Ryan Decisively Finishes Yuri Simoes At KASAI Pro

Gordon Ryan decisively submitted Yuri Simoes in the main event of KASAI Pro tonight.

Ryan emerged the winner after submitting Simoes via rear naked choke with only 16 seconds left on the clock in the opening 10-minute regulation period.

Ryan, the 2017 ADCC 88kg champion, patiently played almost exclusively from top position, securing the back control position around the 9-minute mark.

From there, Ryan trapped an arm that limited the ability of Simoes to defend. The ADCC 99kg champ tried to tuck his chin but the squeeze was enough to force the tap in the dying seconds of the match.

In his post-match interview Ryan once again referenced his desire to compete in the gi in 2018, saying he would be ready to fight the top guys in the latter half of the year.
