Fight To Win Pro is heading to the talent-rich Bay Area for its 62nd show, which pits Australian powerhouse Kit Dale against the crafty veteran Jake Shields in its main event in Oakland this Saturday.

Among grappling fans, the name Kit Dale is synonymous with… a great many things. A glance at his Instagram page will impart the idea that the man has varied tastes and talents, one of those skill sets being jiu-jitsu.

An Australian prodigy, Dale received his black belt in just four years time, winning World Pro at blue and purple belt on his way there. Since then his competitive record has been mixed, but he’s always a threat on the mat and can beat the very best of them on the right day.

After recovering from a brutal knee injury, Dale has been hitting the competitive circuit hard, qualifying and competing at ADCC and again at IBJJF No-Gi Worlds just two months ago.

Shields, too, is in the midst of a career resurgence.

The former Strikeforce middleweight champion and UFC star has dedicated nearly all of his training to grappling and becoming a full-time member of the Danaher Death Squad.

He has praised John Danaher as being instrumental in improving his knowledge of the leglock game, and Shields has been able to use the signature system to earn several wins on the professional grappling circuit.

Despite their difference in personas, Shields and Dale possess similar grappling styles: Both like to wrestle, play on top, and crush their opponent's will through superior pressure. We're curious to see if Danaher's leglock system will be the deciding factor in the match, but seeing as Kit is an ADCC veteran and training partner of Craig Jones, he should be well versed in lower-limb attacks.

In any case, we can't wait for Saturday night.
