The purple belt division is THE place to witness the future of jiu-jitsu. Seasoned but not quite perfectionists, purple belts have all the skills to earn a victory but leave just enough play in their game to remain a bit unpredictable.

Thursday's results at the 2018 Pan Jiu-Jitsu IBJJF Championship in Irvine, California, ranged the gamut: We saw veterans of the rank add more medals to their collections, as well as young blood rising through the brackets to snatch medals from unexpecting opponents.
