No-gi black belt World champions Renato and Raquel Canuto have announce the team they will join following their departure from Zenith in February.

The husband and wife team left the Las Vegas-based Zenith shortly before the 2018 Pans. 

Renato Canuto announced today in an Instagram post that they will join Checkmat team. 

Checkmat, which was co-founded by Leo Vieira, has an HQ based in Long Beach, California. 

Renato competes at lightweight and Raquel competes in the women's middleweight division. Checkmat currently are currently understaffed in both divisions, although there are a few male representatives who are in Renato's divisions, including
