Brazilian Nationals Kicks Off Today!

Brazilian Nationals—aka the Brasileiros—is one of the most prestigious events and coveted tournaments to win in all of jiu-jitsu. The adult divisions kicked off this morning in Sao Paulo and the tournament is scheduled to run until Sunday, May 6.

Many Brazilian athletes who cannot make the trip to Europe, Abu Dhabi, or the USA set their sights on a Brasileiro title all year long. It is the pinnacle of their season, and the registration numbers show: both the black belt adult lightweight and middleweight brackets boast 50-plus athletes and only the roosterweight division clocks in at fewer than 15 registrations.
