We now know who's in for the black belt absolute divisions (male and female) here at the IBJJF 2018 World Jiu-Jitsu Championship. 

29 men and 19 women will dispute the title of absolute champion. Here's what you need to know: 

• Five-time IBJJF absolute world champion Marcus "Buchecha" Almeida is in and aiming to make history as he sets a new record for most IBJJF medals 

• No Atos competitors have signed up for the absolute, with notable absences such as Keenan Cornelius and Lucas Barbosa. 

• In the men's division there are 7 ultra-heavyweights (over 220lb / 100kg) and 10 super-heavyweights (-220lb / -100kg). 

• The lightest competitors are Francisco Iturralde (aka "Sinistro") and Dainis Nguyen-Huu, both lightweights.

• Of the 2017 absolute medalists only Erberth Santos is not present, as he is not competing at all this year. Gold medalist Buchecha, silver Leandro Lo and bronze Luiz Panza are all back.

• 2017 black belt absolute champion Tayane Porfirio is back to defend her title 

• In addition to Porfirio, all of the 2017 absolute medalists are back with Nathiely de Jesus (silver) and bronze medalists Beatriz Mesquita and Jessica Flowers all both back in action. 

• The lightest competitors are Bianca Basilio and Kristin Mikkelson, who are both featherweights.
