The eight-man bracket for BOA Super 8: 4th Edition is going through some last-minute changes ahead of Saturday's event in Melbourne, Australia: Charles Negromonte and Mike Perez have pulled out of the event, and prolific jiu-jitsu filmmaker Stuart Cooper is set to fill one of their two open positions.

Yes, THAT Stuart Cooper.

The departures of Perez and Negromonte—two of the toughest wrestlers on the card—certainly shake things up. That leaves DJ Jackson as the lone berserker who will have a clear advantage on the feet against everyone save James Brasco. We'll send out the update as soon as the final athlete in the eight-man bracket is announced.

BOA Super 8: 4th Edition kicks off Saturday, June 22, at 6:30 PM local time in Melbourne (which is 3:30 AM CST for our viewers based in the USA).

Also featured on the card is Cicero Costha/Unity Jiu-Jitsu's Thalison Soares. The 2018 purple belt world silver medalist (via closeout) and Pan and European champion is set to break in his new brown belt against Mikael Yahaya in a gi match under IBJJF rules.

Yahaya is a coach at Absolute MMA (the same school as Craig Jones) and an extremely active athlete with successful appearances at IBJJF, UAEJJF, and various no-gi events. He recently won his superfight at KASAI Pro 2 against Tony Bergamo and will face a major test against Thalison, who is exceptionally dominant under IBJJF rules.
