One of the smaller competitors in his division, Pedro Machado conquered the +180lb blue-purple bracket to win at World Series of Grappling. 

The Gordo Jiu-Jitsu representative had to wade through a tough line-up of opponents to make it into the final. He opened up by beating Diego Vasquez and Charles Johnson before facing Conner DeAngelis of Atos in the semifinal.

Pedro Machado vs Wallace Costa World Series of Grappling #2

Machado’s final opponent was ultra-heavyweight Wallace Costa of GF Team. They fought three five-minute matches for the grand prize with Machado winning two matches to one. 

When asked what his biggest challenge of the day was, Machado responded: “Every match. Every match was tough, I had a really tough semifinal and then of course the final with Wallace. I just got to the States two days ago, now I’m going to stay until December and train with Gordo in Florida  and hopefully compete in the No-Gi Worlds.”
