The notoriously tough room at Unity jiu-jitsu just got that much tougher: leglock extraordinaire Eddie Cummings confirmed today that he has joined the team for good.

Cummings caused a stir back in September it was revealed that he had joined the pro training sessions at Unity Jiu-Jitsu, a crosstown rival to the Renzo Gracie Academy also based in New York City. The pro sessions at Unity are politic-free and open for anyone to join, but Cummings' decision to train there certainly raised some eyebrows given the fact that he was once seen as one of the main figures of the Danaher Death Squad, and ex-temmates – most notably Gordan Ryan – voiced their displeasure on social media.

However, despite all the discussion, Cummings' official relationship with Unity remained a topic of speculation until he revealed on Instagram this evening he had officially joined Unity, simply stating that "it’s good to have a home again."
