The women’s black belt absolute has 14 competitors signed up and is remarkable for the fact that Gabi Garcia makes her return to gi jiu-jitsu.

No.1 seed Nathiely Jesus has the task of getting through the likes of Hillary Vanornum to get to the semis. Bianca Basilio and Amanda Alequin will face off in the opening round with the winner getting either Carina Santi or Claire-France Thevenon.

The opposite side of the absolute bracket is the most competitive. Gabi Garcia's return to jiu-jitsu will be a tough test. First she faces Jessica Flowers of Gracie Barra, with the winner likely facing two-time world champ Ana Carolina Vieira. Luiza Monteiro's opening match will be either Maria Malyjasiak or Larissa Campos.
