Fight 2 Win 110 hits Cleveland, Ohio this Saturday, April 27, with a card unlike any they have done before. They are bringing their usual heavy hitters for a main event between Jaime Canuto (GF Team) and Michael Liera Jr. (Atos HQ), but in true Fight 2 Win style they always have something new up their sleeve.

UFC #1 heavyweight contender, who is also a local Cleveland firefighter, Stipe Miocic (Brasa) takes on hometown hero of the Cleveland police, Aaron Howard (Carlson Gracie) in a bout that will benefit the National Fallen Firefighter Association.

Stipe Miocic

Stipe Miocic is regarded as one of the best heavyweights in MMA, holding the record for most consecutive title defenses in the division (three), and this will be the first time since his fight against Daniel Cormier last July that we have seen him in a competitive setting.

Not only that, but Miocic’s successful MMA career relies heavily on his wrestling and boxing skills. Now we have the unique opportunity to see him not only in a pure jiu-jitsu match, but in the gi in front of his hometown. Not only that, he’s doing it in support of an amazing cause.

When you think “UFC Fighter” you don’t typically think “and part time firefighter”. But for Stipe Miocic, you should. To prepare for his life after the octagon he has built up a career serving his community, so this match is about more becoming a well-rounded grappler. He is leveraging the platform to support the National Fallen Firefighter Association, a charity whose mission is to honor the fallen fire heroes, support the families that are left behind, and work to reduce the amount of firefighter deaths and injuries.

Jaime Canuto in action

If you know jiu-jitsu, then you know why the main event between Jaime Canuto and Michael Liera Jr. is such a magnificent match up for the main event.

Two of the sport’s most dominant and competitive teams collide as the FloGrappling ranked #4 black belt middle weight and GF Team representative, Jaime Canuto, meets the FloGrappling #5 ranked product of the Atos HQ powerhouse, Michael Liera Jr.

Liera Jr.

As the rankings suggest fans can expect this to be a toe-to-toe match. Both men are highly regarded for the powerful closed guard attacks, and both have been fortified by training daily with the two of the best teams in the world.

After winning Pans and Worlds in 2014 as a brown belt Canuto went on to earn a reputation as one of the best black belt middleweights in the sport. Liera Jr. made a name for himself early on as a colored belt becoming a World Champion at every belt, blue to brown. Skill, style, and desire being equal this match is anyone’s game.
