It's Official: Keenan Cornelius vs Nicholas Meregali Superfight Will Happen

Keenan Cornelius and Nicholas Meregali will face off against one another as the main event for the stacked Third Coast Grappling event in June.

Nicholas Meregali is coming off a double gold medal performance at the Brazilian Nationals where he submitted seven of nine opponents.

He quickly accepts an opponent who is equally as dangerous, notable lapel exponent and the pioneer of the infamous worm guard, Keenan Cornelius.

The event is to be held on June 21st at the Warehouse Live in downtown Houston.

As June is approaching, one could have guessed that Third Coast Grappling coordinators Ryan McGuire and Zach Marshall were hunting for very large game to fill the main event spotlight on a card that already has many superstars.

One thing that most people could not have guessed is that both Meregali and Cornelius would agree to a superfight in the same month of the IBJJF World Championships.

This has been a match up that many fans of the sport have wanted to see ever since Meregali made his black belt debut in 2017.
