Steffen Banta proved today that his position as the #1 ranked pound-for-pound blue belt was well deserved; the 19-year-old Soul Fighters competitor stormed through the blue belt medium-heavyweight division at the pyramid to take home the gold medal in the medium-heavy.

Banta opened the day strong, putting 16 points on his first opponent before moving on to win by submission his next two matches in a row.  His semi-final and final matches were hard-fought affairs, but  Banta managed to claw his way to the top.
