Injured Keenan Out, Cyborg Steps Up To Face Meregali

Keenan Cornelius and Nicholas Meregali went head to head in the absolute division at the IBJJF World Championships last weekend, with the American trickster winning 2-0 in a barn-burner of a match.

Cornelius advanced to face Leandro Lo in the absolute division semifinal but injured his rib in the process and pulled out of the match.

The nature of the injury means that Keenan would be unable to train for the main event superfight with Nicholas Meregali scheduled for June 21 on Third Coast Grappling.

But every cloud has a silver lining, and we'll now see an inter-generational clash of styles as legendary competitor Roberto 'Cyborg' Abreu steps up.

"With Keenan injured during his match with Leandro Lo and out for a bit, we scoured around for the best possible replacement and landed on this...we believe this match will be fireworks from beginning to end," said the Third Coast Grappling team.

Cyborg seems amped up for this match– watch it live or on demand ONLY on FloGrappling on June 21

Also on the card are Craig Jones vs Matheus Diniz, Edwin Najmi vs Gianni Grippo, Vagner Rocha vs Ethan Crelinsten, Marcelo Uirapuru vs Gilbert Burns, Gabriel Arges vs Kit Dale, Lucas Valente vs Marcio Andre, Michael Perez vs Jackson Sousa, Manuel Ribamar vs Hunter Newton and more!
