DeBlass Takes KASAI Pro Superfight In Front Of New Jersey Home Town Crowd

KASAI announced today that Tom DeBlass will face Andrew Tevay at KASAI Pro 6 on Saturday, August 17th at the Showboat Atlantic City Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ. 

The show will also feature KASAI's inaugural World Bantamweight (135lb) Championship Tournament, as well as numerous compelling superfight matchups.

Tom DeBlass is a well-known and respected grappler and coach from Bayville, NJ. He earned his black belt under Ricardo Almeida, part of the Renzo Gracie Team. He has had impressive competitive runs in both jiu-jitsu and MMA, and he has managed to produce high level athletes including KASAI veteran Garry Tonon. He is a three-time ADCC Trials winner and veteran of the ADCC World Championships. Some of DeBlass’s main achievements include IBJJF No-Gi World Champion (2015 black belt Master 1 absolute) and No-Gi IBJJF Pan American Champion (2013 black belt). 

Andrew Tevay is a brown belt at Gracie A1 in Orange CT. He has a World Championship Grappling title. He is a multiple time division winner at NAGA, United Grapplers Association, Ammo Grappling, Grappling Industries. He also was a WCG, UGA and Ammo superfight winner.

In addition to Deblass vs. Tevay, KASAI Pro 6 will feature KASAI World Welterweight Champion Matheus Diniz against Josh Hinger, and KASAI World Light Heavyweight Champion Kaynan Duarte vs. Yuri Simoes in the main event. 

KASAI Pro 6 will also hold a World Bantamweight Championship Tournament. Five competitors have already been signed to compete in this event in addition to the Pro Qualifier winner. they include:

  • Ethan Crelinsten
  • Ashley Williams
  • Richard Alarcon (Pro Qualifier winner)
