Ruan Alvarenga from Alliance Marcelo Garcia was on fire at No-Gi Pans this morning, tapping his way through the brown belt featherweight division. Ruan won the ADCC South American trials to qualify for ADCC later this month but still signed up for No-Gi Pans just a couple weeks out from ADCC. If he was looking at this event as a warm-up for ADCC it certainly worked out for him as he barely broke a sweat on his way to gold.

Overall Ruan outscored his three opponents 32-0 and finished all fights with submissions. In the first round he secured a choke from the crucifix against Christopher Dennis from Unity Jiu-Jitsu. Up next he had Abdimalik Buul from Atos, Ruan racked up 11 points before finishing with an armlock. The final against Damion Oranday of Alliance was Ruan's most dominant of the day, where he ran up a 21-0 lead before finishing with an armlock from s-mount.

Although today's action was against brown belts, Ruan looked sharp and may be one of the dark horses in the 66kh division heading into ADCC 2019.
