Dante Leon Takes Lepris Back!

The only match from the second round of competition featured on this list, Dante Leon shocked the world when he took the back of 77kg FAvorite Lucas Lepri to take the win 3-0.


Nicky Rod Out-Wrestles Mahamed Aly 

The TLI competitor and gi world champion showed that he had put the work in and displayed solid wrestling defense throughout most of the bout. 

The match was essentially even until the final exchange where Nicky attempted a slick fireman's carry takedown; though he was unable to finish the throw for points, the attempt seemed to be instrumental to earning the judges decision.

2019 has been a breakout year Ricard Alarcon. Coming off a strong showing at KASAI Pro 6, Alarcon managed to pull off the 4-2 overtime victory against 66kg favorite Gianni Grippo in the first-round.

Carina Santi Takes Nathiely's Back

Nathiely de Jesus is the 2018 No-Gi world champion with a recent submission-only decision win over Gabi Garcia at F2w back in August of this yea; t she has painted a potential favorite in the division, but Carina Santi had different plans. 

The Brazilian trial winner managed to take De Jesus' back to win the match 3-0. She will face Tayane Porfirio in the semi-final on Sunday.
