The line-up for the Spyder BJJ Invitational is almost complete with the addition of three more names, two of them reigning IBJJF World Champions. 

Gold medalists at the World Championships in 2019, Nicholas Meregali and Gabriel Arges represent the current generation of champions and bring even more firepower to two divisions already loaded with highly accomplished competitors.

Super-heavyweight Nicholas Meregali is the current no.1-ranked pound-for-pound black belt following his win at the recent BJJ Stars event in Brazil, where he bested Victor Hugo, Lucas Hulk Barbosa and Gustavo Batista, submitting the latter in the final. One of the most aggressive finishers in jiu-jitsu, he currently boasts a 78% submission rate. Some of his most notable victories include wins over Leandro Lo, Kaynan Duarte, Mahamed Aly, Felipe Pena, Xande Ribeiro. 

Only one more name remains to be revealed for the -100kg division.

Gabriel Arges makes his Spyder debut in the -76kg division. The Brazilian athlete, who represents Gracie Barra, is a two-time IBJJF World Champion having won in 2017 and 2019. He closed out the World Championships in 2016 with teammate Otavio Sousa. 

Inseong Jang, 21, is a Spyder veteran and one of the few world-class Korean black belts. He holds wins over AJ Agazarm and Rafael Domingos. In July he faced off with freestyle wrestler Byungmin Gong in a special mixed-rules match in which Jang lost on points during a wrestling round, but winning by submission in a submission grappling round.
