AJ Agazarm vs Osvaldo 'Queixinho' Moizinho

AJ Agazarm may have transitioned to a professional MMA fighter, but he hasn’t forgotten his jiu-jitsu roots. This is the first time we’ll see AJ don the gi in the competition since he stepped into the cage, and we’re eager to see how his time spent training with the Diaz brothers will transition to his match with veteran Osvaldo 'Queixinho' Moizinho.

The Bellator MMA competitor's last appearance at Fight To Win delivered one of the most exciting matches of the year when he took on Ary Farias at Fight To Win 133. Par for the course for any match with Agazarm, the bout nearly turned into a full-on brawl, with Farias and AJ sending each other – plus referee Seth Daniels – off the platform more than once.  It was a tightly contended battle, but AJ's aggression was the prevailing factor and he was awarded the win by the judges.

For his part, Queixinho could be considered the superior technician of the two.

He's an omoplata machine and early adopter of lapel guards and attacks; the Ares BJJ leader has long been considered one of the foremost innovators in our sport and is as precise as they come.

When it comes to contesting styles, we have the perfect storm in AJ being the crafty escape artist and brawler while Queixinho plays the part of the surgical technician.

Avenging a previous loss may also add a bit more fuel to Agazarm's fire.

Queixinho holds a win over Agazarm from the 2017 World Championships. It was a tightly contested battle with plenty of attacks seen from each athlete, and while Agazarm's durability and defense skills were on full display, Queixinho was able to retain a narrow lead, pulling off the win by two points.

Co-Main: Roberto Jimenez vs Gabriel Almedia

Long heralded prospect and purple belt world Champion Roberto Jimenez exploded onto the black belt scene in February by clinching the upset win over Keenan Cornelius at Who’s Number One.

The Studio 76 jiu-jitsu competitor is a dynamic ball of energy — obsessed with the submission and youthful enough to keep a ludicrously high work rate. Though his game is as well-rounded as they come, Jimenez as an excellent berimbolo from bottom AND top position, and he is an absolute master at taking the back.

However, Gabriel Almeida from Checkmat is not someone to overlook.

He holds a win over Lucas Hulk Barbosa – the last man to be Roberto –  and is known for his crafty guard and creative submission sequences. An ADCC trials winner and European Championship silver medalist, Almeida still holds an experience edge of Roberto for competing at the highest level, and patience and strategy may hold his keys to victory.
