In the main event, Elisabeth Clay will make her black belt debut on the Fight To Win stage, where she’s spent most of 2020 etching her name in the rankings. As a brown belt, she tore through every black belt she faced on Fight to Win, including several world champions. She’ll face Rafaela Guedes, a newly promoted black belt, herself. Guedes has been on a roll since earning her promotion, winning double-gold at Pans in October and scoring absolute gold at No-Gi Pans with two submissions in three matches.

Clay and Guedes have history. At Worlds last year, Clay submitted Guedes twice on her way to double-gold. Guedes will want to show how far she’s come this year, but she’ll be up against a submission hunter. Clay has won six of her last eight matches by submission, favoring the heel hook and the gogoplata. Her only loss in that span was to the no. 1-ranked pound-for-pound Gabi Garcia, a decision loss at Who’s Number One.

In the co-main event, Matheus Luna will try to break his three-fight losing streak on the Fight to Win stage against Fellipe Trovo. That will be no easy task, as Trovo has a style catered for the Fight to Win ruleset. He’s aggressive in his submission attempts, and he has a nasty triangle which has helped him to keep his submission percentage high. But Luna is scrappy, and plays the role of the underdog well. If he can get to Trovo’s back, Luna will be especially dangerous. He, too, has a high rate of submission, most of which have come when he’s attained back control.
