Meet The Talented Young Athletes Fighting On The FREE WNO Undercard

Before the main card kicks off at Who’s Number One: Gordon Ryan vs Vagner Rocha, four young stars will have their opportunities to shine on the WNO mats.

The two preliminary matches on WNO on March 26 will feature four young colored belts looking to earn recognition on one of the largest platforms in grappling. Those matches will steam live for free on the FloGrappling Facebook and YouTube channels before the main card.

In the opening match of the night, Andrew Tackett, a teenage purple belt, will take on Sean Yadimarco, a Renzo Gracie brown belt, in a 15-minute match under WNO rules. Yadimarco won no-gi pans as a purple belt in 2020. The 21-year old is a commensurate competitor with a precise style.

His opponent, Tackett is the younger brother of William Tackett, and has many similarities to his brother. Not least of which is that the younger Tackett is always willing to face any opponent.

In his most recent win, Tackett was the smaller athlete, fighting a brown belt for the Fight to Win middleweight title. Tackett did so in marvelous fashion, taking his opponent’s back in a scramble and finishing a rear mount triangle.

This will be Tackett’s second appearance on WNO. He competed in the very first WNO event in February 2020.

In the feature undercard match of the evening, Art Of Jiu-Jitsu’s Cole Abate will face Ned Johnson of 10th Planet.

Abate is one of the most noteworthy young prospects from the AOJ camp. Like Tackett, Abate is a WNO veteran, having competed in the February 2020 event in a gi match. Abate won that match via submission in less than four minutes. At just 16 years old, the blue belt habitually challenges older, heavier and more highly-ranked competitors.

That will be the case again on the WNO undercard. Abate’s opponent, Johnson is a 26-year old purple belt and a three-time World Series of Grappling finalist. Johnson is scrappy, and a talented wrestler, which could make for a full-throttle match against an AOJ product known for his technical precision.

The main card will be LIVE, only on FloGrappling on February 26 at 9 p.m. ET.
