Kody Steele is set to make his fourth appearance on FloGrappling’s Who’s Number One mats on June 18. This time, the Checkmat black belt is slated to face a UFC veteran welterweight, Philip Rowe.

Steele, currently 1-2 on the WNO mats, will face Rowe on the undercard of WNO: Craig Jones vs Tye Ruotolo on June 18. Steele already has a win over Alec Baulding, but is coming off of a two-match in bouts against Dante Leon and Tye Ruotolo. Despite his previous losses, Steele is one of the most exciting and explosive young grapplers on the WNO roster. He’s the no.9-ranked welterweight, and has a dynamic wrestling game.

Steele has spent the last few months developing his kickboxing skills. He’s also a Combat Jiu-Jitsu champion, and appears to be eying an MMA career. That makes his upcoming match against Rowe a significant one for his future.

Rowe, making his WNO debut is a brown belt with savvy wrestling, and the top-pressure game required for a UFC-level mixed martial artist. He’s 7-3 as a professional MMA fighter, and has earned each of his seven victories via stoppage; he has three knockouts and four submission wins.

He’s the next in line among the growing number of mixed martial artists looking to test their skills on the WNO mats. This prelim matchup will be streamed live for free on FloGrappling’s Facebook and YouTube channels.
