Since his return to no-gi competition this year, he has been nothing short of dominant in his three matches at WNO. Now he will make his long awaited debut under ADCC rules at Road To ADCC on July 17th, when he takes on ADCC veteran and top ranked featherweight Geo Martinez.

"The combination of ADCC rules and how great of an opponent Geo is makes this the hardest match of my no-gi career by far. I haven't had a rest day in 5 months, been working so hard to improve every day, and I promise I will come and fight my butt off. I never know the result, but all I know is it will be a crazy match with amazing technical exchanges between us and I will attack every second." Mikey Musumeci

Mikey is a No-Gi Worlds champion at black belt, but took five years off competing in no-gi after defeating Joao Miyao in the 2016  final. He started off his return with a submission victory over Marcelo Cohen, before tapping top ranked Lucas Pinheiro with a heel hook in under two minutes. His last match went the distance against Junny Ocasio, but Mikey dominated from start to finish.

Up next for Mikey is 10th Planet veteran and #1 ranked featherweight Geo Martinez, who is also coming off a win over Junny Ocasio at WNO. This is Geo's second #1 vs #1 match since December, when he lost a decision to top ranked lightweight Kennedy Maciel. Geo is 2-1 at WNO so far, with the previously mentioned win over Junny and also a decision win over Paulo Miyao.

"It's hard not to respect Mikey's accomplishments on the mats, everyone loves him, he's definitely part of BJJ royalty in gi and no-gi, he is like jiu-jitu's golden boy. I don't know how I feel about him always trying to be super nice to everyone, I don't know, it just doesn't feel real. Maybe it's just me trying to get myself more hyped up before the match, or maybe I just don't get him. I have a feeling he thinks he's way better than me, I guess we will see, once we shake hands it's on. I'm here to be the best and leave my mark, I'm not here to make new friends, I have enough friends." Geo Martinez

Already a three time ADCC veteran. Geo no doubt has the experience advantage under these rules. He is Mikey's biggest test yet, tune in July 17th to see if the freakazoid can stop the Mikey hype train.
