Mica Galvao To Face Dante Leon at Tezos WNO On March 25

The surging Brazilian teenager, Micael Galvao, will try to ascend the 170 lb rankings as Tezos Who’s Number One presented by Fat Tire on Friday, March 25 when he takes on the no.4-ranked welterweight, Dante Leon.

Galvao is set to return to Tezos WNO fresh off an outstanding ADCC South American Trials run, where he submitted all four of his opponents without allowing a match to reach the two-minute mark.

He’s 4-1 on Tezos WNO, but has never competed in the welterweight division. He had a standout performance in the WNO Championship in the middleweight division, where he lost a closely-contested match in the final to the reigning champ, Tye Ruotolo.

Galvao has been lauded for unpredictable and precise style of jiu-jitsu; he can find a submission from anywhere at any time.

That makes him a perfect match for Pedigo Submission Fighting’s Leon.

Dante Leon has a scrappy and aggressive style of jiu-jitsu, often wrestling up from his guard, and pushing the pace on his opponents from all areas of the mat. He’ll bring the fight to Galvao in what is likely to be a sprint to the finish.

Leon is an IBJJF No-Gi World Champion, and had a career best performance at ADCC 2019, where he outscored Lucas Lepri and finished in the top four at 77 kg.

Galvao is on a hot streak coming into this match, but Leon has what it takes to extinguish his opponent’s fire.
