Davi Ramos's Secret for ADCC Prep: Training with UFC Heavyweights
Interview by Hywel Teague
ATOS black belt Davi Ramos blew through the ADCC trials in Rio de Janeiro earlier this year, finishing 5 of his 6 fights by submission.
The 29 year old Rio de Janeiro native confirmed his spot in the ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championships in Sao Paulo with a mix of fearsome wrestling, dynamic guard passing, a heavy top game and razor-sharp submissions.
“My game is not going to change,” promises Davi, who has been training alongside MMA fighters who outweigh him by up to 20kg.
“[These are] guys that don’t just fight jiu-jitsu, but are MMA professionals with a lot of experience on the ground. They are heavier and this helped me a lot, I believe that training with heavier guys I have a kind of advantage over guys my weight. I feel much stronger when I fight guys my own weight.”
