Watch Respect Pro Jiu-Jitsu 3 Only On FloGrappling May 21.

Respect Jiu-Jitsu was created to highlight some of the worlds most well respected jiu-jitsu competitors in a world-class environment. The event features one center mat with head-to-head super fights, and a who’s who of top American black belts, as well as up and coming blue, purple and brown belts. 

All jiu-jitsu matches will be in the gi, keeping true to the roots of the art. Matches will be scored with points but no advantages. This forces the competitors to push a little harder for scoring and opens up for more opportunities in the match while not settling for ‘almost scoring’ positions. Black belt matches will be seven minutes in duration, ensuring plenty of action. 

Headlining this stellar jiu-jitsu card will be none other than Rafael Lovato Jr. Though he’s been focusing on his MMA career as of late, he returns to compete in a gi superfight at Respect Pro Jiu-Jitsu 3.  Rafael’s opponent will be Steve Patterson, a black belt under Rodrigo ‘Comprido’ Medeiros. Patterson is one of the Midwest’s toughest black belts and is looking to make a name for himself. Lovato, who has competed in pretty much every major jiu-jitsu and grappling event in the world, is hoping to add another title to his long list of accomplishments and establish himself as America’s #1 black belt. 

Returning to the Respect 3 stage will be Gianni Grippo. Following a very tough match with Jeff Curran at Respect 2, Grippo is returning to face Brian Stuebner in the first-round match of the special 155lb title tournament. On the other side of the bracket Gabriel Martins will face the winner of the Fuji Jiu-Jitsu tournament, offering a real chance for a wildcard competitor to make a name for themselves.

The card also features a line up of top American black belt standouts such as: Tyler Bishop, Josh Mancuso, Ezra Lenon, Jared Dopp, Jared Weiner, Mark Vives, Alan Shearo, Stephen Roberto and more. 

In addition to the above there will also be a special women’s 135lb purple belt tournament featuring Laura Heiman, Taylor Biagi, Lyanne Perez and Kayla Patterson!
