Brown Belt Absolute World Champ Gutemberg Pereira Destroys Opponent In Final

GF Team brown belt Gutemberg Pereira missed out on gold in his weight class, taking silver in the ultra heavyweight division. He rebounded in the openweight (absolute) class, beating Vinicius 'Trator' Fereira of Alliance in the final with a brutal toehold.

Pereira, who moved from his native Brazil to train in Ohio, only has brown belt middleweight Dante Leon as his main training partner. Despite this, he showed strong jiu-jitsu with a decisive finish in the final of the absolute division.

It was a very tough weekend, Now it’s the time to relax. It was very tough, the guy beat me in the (ultra heavyweight) final by two advantages.

I had seven fights, five fights in the open class. And everybody was super tough. I grabbed my toehold – I’m good in that place.

I don’t know if I will compete again this year I’m really sore. Take a break and start again next year.
