Lucas Barbosa Has A Message For His Opponents: 'Be Prepared'
After three dominant matches in San Diego on Saturday night, Lucas "Hulk" Barbosa was crowned FIVE Grappling's first light heavyweight champion.
Hulk looked untouchable as he steamrolled through the eight-man tournament, taking out Marcel Louzado, Tarsis Humpheys, and Nick Schrock. It's clear Hulk -- an Atos black belt -- has been putting in a lot of work since we last saw him in the gi and is ready to take 2017 by storm.
The first major tournament of the year is this week's IBJJF Pan Jiu-Jitsu Championships in Irvine, California, where Barbosa will look to build on his momentum and take gold in medium-heavy division.
2017 is going to be a new year, new challenges. I've been training a lot, and if you're at my weight, be prepared.
