Gracie vs Buchecha II: The Rematch The World Has Been Waiting For
Two titans of the sport will collide in the birthplace of Brazilian jiu-jitsu to settle a five-year-long rivalry once and for all at the Gracie Pro Jiu-Jitsu event on July 23 in Rio de Janeiro.
Roger Gracie, a 10-time world champion and the man most consider the greatest of all time will take on present-day king Marcus "Buchecha" Almeida in a massive heavyweight clash.
Hot off his 2017 double-gold bid at the 2017 World Championships, Almeida is on an unprecedented roll after taking out heavy hitters such as Leandro Lo, Erberth Santos, Joao Gabriel, and Rafael Lovato Jr. Focused on becoming the greatest to ever live, Almeida is turning his attention to ADCC once the super fight with Gracie is done.
Gracie, who has not competed in jiu-jitsu since a 2015 win over Comprido, has long hinted that the lone fight to take him out of retirement would be a rematch with Buchecha. During their first match, Gracie was recovering from a well-publicized staph infection and is now looking to bring the Buchecha hype train to a screeching halt.
Tune in July 23 to find out which legend will claim victory and continue to write his story.
