Paulo Miyao details his plans for 2019. And if he achieves half of what he's aiming for, it could be his greatest year ever.

Miyao's two-year suspension for a failed doping test at the 2016 IBJJF World Championships came to an end in late 2018, opening up the chance for him to return to IBJJF and other WADA Code signatory events.

First stop for Miyao: the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam in Abu Dhabi, where he will compete in the 69kg division. Then, he flies straight to Portugal for the IBJJF European Championships, where he will compete as a featherweight.

“I want to fight all the major IBJJF tournaments: Europeans, Pans, Brazilian Nationals and Worlds. And I want to fight all of the UAEJJF Grand Slams and World Pro, too. This are my main tournaments for the first semester.”
