Joao Rocha Eager To Turn Up the Pace Against Gordon

Rocha x Ryan: KASAI

Joao Gabriel Rocha is an exceptionally accomplished jiu-jitsu athlete, but despite landing on the podium at some of the biggest events in the World like ADCC and the IBJJF World Championships, the Soul Fighters athlete has yet to become synonymous with Must-Watch TV.

But all that could change this weekend, as Rocha certainly has the opportunity of a lifetime ahead of him this weekend at the KASAI Super Series with a chance to pull off the win over Gordon Ryan.

We caught up with Rocha at the Soul Fighters Dallas Pro Training Center just days before he takes the stage at the KASAI Super series to get his thoughts on Gordon and the matchups.

"I have had a long camp for this match, I started in December in Brazil. I’ve had two weeks in Dallas, and I’ve just been keeping up with the training and turning up the pace towards the end."

"I’m excited to fight Gordon, I’ve watched a few of his matches and I know this is good match for me.  I don’t want to [make any predictions] because it can [unfold in many ways], but I’m excited, let's go."

"I think my best way to win is to attack and pass Gordon's guard, but this can change when the match happens, a fight is complicated.  I know’s he’s top level and he’s winning everything, but this doesn’t matter to me."
