Ultra Heavyweight Submission Underground Competitor Fabiano Scherner Is Pretty Fly For A Big Guy

Fabiano Scherner Is Pretty Fly For A Big Guy

Chael Sonnen's jiu-jitsu coach is Gracie Barra black belt Fabiano Scherner, an ultra heavyweight grappler who bucks the trend when it comes to 'big guy jiu-jitsu'.

This July 17, he'll be showcasing his game at Submission Underground presented by Chael Sonnen and FloSports, a submission-only no-gi grappling event that will use EBI rules.

My grappling style, I developed a pretty good bottom game for a big guy. Most guys my size they would take you down and stay on top the whole time. People didn't want to watch the ultra heavyweights because there was rarely a a submission.
Scherner faces MMA fighter and jiu-jitsu black belt Ricco Rodrigues, a very tough and experienced opponent with many years grappling experience.

Ricco was already a champion when I was training to become an MMA fighter. He's very accomplished guy in both MMA and grappling, and I want to put my skills against him.
