Haisam Rida was the underdog against former champion Roberto Cyborg in the opening round of the +99kg division at ADCC 2022. 

Cyborg took an early risk, spinning to shoot and giving up an underhook. Rida wasted no time in countering, sending Cyborg to his back and threading his leg over for an armbar. The crowd erupted as Rida broke Cyborg's grips, earning the tap.

This was the first truly explosive moment of ADCC 2022, and assured fans in attendance that they were in for a once in a lifetime experience at this event.

The most anticipated superfight in the history of grappling did not disappoint. But even for those fans assured that Gordon could not be stopped, the finish came as a surprise.

Gordon precisely got behind Galvao, putting points on the board and surgically sinking in a one-armed choke, ending Galvao's reign as the ADCC absolute champion.

Mica Galvao's armlock in his first match at the ADCC South American Trials had our minds in knots.

Galvao used a deep underhook from the coyote guard to fling himself toward his opponent's upper body, acrobatically securing an immediate finish. He completed his four match campaign in five minutes of total mat time.

Josh Cisneros lands Suloev Stretch vs Gianni Grippo | ADCC West Coast Trials

Josh Cisneros landed this rare submission twice during his ADCC West Coast Trials campaign.

Attacking from back control, Cisneros fell off of Grippo's back to grab his opponent's heel, then viciously stretched the hamstring, levering Grippo's foot over his head.

Diego Pato Z-Locks Kennedy Maciel | ADCC 2022

Diego Pato has earned his place among the best leg lockers in the world.

Still, his Z-Lock at ADCC, the first in the event's history, shocked everyone.

Pato isolated Kennedy Maciel's leg, then scooped the ankle with his bicep and torqued.

Jacob Rodriguez and the buggy choke have a long, complicated history.
