Eliza Carvalho of Nova Uniao tore through her division and the absolute on the opening day of the 2023 IBJJF European Championships, submitting nearly all of her opponents to capture double god.

Carvalho tapped four of her five opponents in the lightweight division: an armbar, a katagatame and a triangle in the division final.

She entered into the absolute division where she kept her submission rate high, tapping three more opponents on the way to the final, where she won via submission.
