WNO 23: Nicholas Meregali vs.Vagner Rocha is here.This action begins at 8 p.m. EST on May 10 at College Park Center in Arlington, Texas. 

Nicholas Meregali is returning to the WNO stage and looks to win his first WNO match of 2024. Vagner Rocha also returns to WNO as one half of the main event as he looks to climb into the top 10 no gi rankings.

While these two are the main event matches, eight grapplers are making their WNO debuts, and some are returning to WNO, including Nicky Ryan, Andrew Tackett, Felipe Pena, Rafael Lovato Jr., and JT Torres.

After a heated press conference exchange between headliners Nicholas Meregali and Vagner Rocha and an exciting undercard that delivered the fastest submission in Who's Number One history, the main card is underway!

Main Event: Nicholas Meregali vs Vagner Rocha | Heavyweight | 15 min

Starting his path to victory with an arm drag to a footsweep for the takedown, Meregali displayed beautiful passing as he worked his way to side control and then mount before taking Rocha's back. After a brief recovery from Vagner, Meregali worked back to mount before transitioning to an armbar for the finish!

Andrew Tackett vs Tommy Langaker | MIddleweight | 15 min

After a guard pull from Langaker, Tackett went to work on his guard passing and found his way to Langaker's back. Patiently fighting through Langaker's defense, Tackett secured the sub just past the halfway point of the bout.

Felipe Pena vs Rafael Lovato Jr | Heavyweight | 15 min

In a closely fought bought between ADCC and WNO veterans, Pena pulled off the victory appearing to control the pace of the match despite being largely stalemated after a few early takedown attempts.

Nicky Ryan vs JT Torres | Welterweight | 15 min

After feeling out the first third of the fight with shot exchanges, Nicky Ryan broke through with a low single-leg takedown. Countered by a leg lock attempt from Torres, Ryan scrambled through the position and found his own straight ankle lock for the finish!

Jasmine Rocha vs Emily Ferreira | Bantamweight | 15 min

Putting on an impressive performance shutting down Ferreira's offense and going to work on her own, Jasmine kept the Rocha family 2/2 on the night, securing a vicious Aoki lock for the finish just before the five-minute mark!

Action-packed from start to finish, Lira and Alabed put on a show filled with submission attempts and an explosive takedown from Alabed. Lira's constant heel hook threat and persistent submission attempts throughout the match ultimately won him the decision.

Jessie Crane vs Cassia Moura | Flyweight | 9 min

Dominating in her WNO debut, Cassia Moura stayed patient as she progressed through Crane's half-guard to side control. Unleashing a wave of pressure, Moura found her way to Cran'es back and secured a choke for the finish!
