Victor Hugo To Face Luke Griffith In Major Heavyweight Match At WNO 27
Victor Hugo will face Luke Griffith in a major heavyweight co-main event matchup at WNO 27
We have our co-main event set for WNO 27, as two of the best heavyweights in the world will throw down in a major matchup. It will be two Austin-based stars, as Six Blades's Victor Hugo takes on New Wave's Luke Griffith in a battle between two men who are undefeated on WNO. WNO 27 goes down April 18th in Round Rock, TX, with the main event happening between ADCC Double Champ Kaynan Duarte and CJI Champion Nick Rodriguez.

Both Victor and Luke had great years in 2024 that ended on a sour note. Victor started strong with WNO wins over Nick Rodriguez and Javier Zaruski, but then lost first round at CJI in a major upset. Luke really emerged as a top contender with a submission win over Kaynan Duarte and a run to the ADCC finals but there he lost by submission after nearly securing an early victory himself. Now, both men come into this match with a lot to prove and a lot to earn with a win. Victor and Luke have never faced off but this match has been building for some time, with them nearly meeting at a prior WNO.
With a major heavyweight matchup in the main event and co-main event, there's likely to be a ton of shakeup in this division moving forward. Gordon Ryan currently holds the championship belt, but with his status currently unknown it's possible we have a new #1 before the end of the year. Whatever happens in Round Rock on April 18th will have huge consequences and really help define how heavyweight transpires over the next few years.
