Nick Rodriguez and Victor Hugo have competed twice, most recently last year at WNO 22, with Hugo taking home the decision win. He is 3-0 in the series, but this is his first match since his disappointing showing at CJI 1 where he lost by submission first round (in a bracket Nick won with all submissions).

We are going to have several of the UFC FPI athletes on the next Who's Number One, going down live April 18th in Round Rock, TX. The main event will be between ADCC Double Champion Kaynan Duarte taking on CJI Champion Nick Rodriguez in the biggest match in WNO history. Victor Hugo will be in the co-main event, taking on ADCC finalist Luke Griffith.

UFC FPI 10 Results

Main event! Nick Rodriguez vs Victor Hugo, the fourth time they have faced off. Victor pulls, Nicky working from top. Victor shoots up early for an omoplata attempt but Nicky evades it. Working from the knee shield. Nicky mixing in some loose passing. Victor manages to close the guard, Nicky right up and out. Nicky reattacks and manages to lock onto a rear body lock but they are out of bounds. Reset will be key. They start with Nicky in side control. He's keeping really good pressure, but gets called for action. Nicky tries to step to mount but Victor catches the half guard and he's into knee shield. Lot of little battles here but Nicky looks great so far. Victor scrambles back up off a pass attempt and they reset to the middle. Heavy hand fighting both way. We are into overtime. Victor pulls. We are back to the knee shield. Nicky does lock his hands on a body lock for a moment but abandons it. Both men called for action. The referee decides to restart them on the feet. Victor uses an overhook to hip toss him and spins around to the back, and scores his four off a big scramble near the edge. He locks up his rear naked choke and scores the submission win! He dances after, Victor came up big in the final moments here to win in style.

Victor Hugo def. Nick Rodriguez by submission (rear naked choke) in overtime

Co-main event time, and it's Oliver Taza and Renato Canuto. No surprise, they start fast with Taza rolling to the leg, Canuto trying to counter to the back, and they reset to the feet. Quick guys. Taza again counters a takedown attempt with a leg entry on the way down. Canuto stacks and unwraps legs to stay safe. Taza does manage to find his way into an outside heel hook bite but Renato rolls safely to bottom. Now we see Taza trying his tight passing. Canuto sweeps and passes his way to side control and is pushing for mount. Instead, Taza stays safe and works his way back to his feet. Canuto hip tosses him back down with authority. He mounts, Taza escapes and we are going to move to OT. Points are a factor now. Taza grabbing at legs, Renato being very relaxed. Taza drags, Renato redrags and grabs the front headlock. Oliver chases him down and nearly returns him back to the mat for two but concedes to half guard bottom. Renato rolls across the top for a kimura trap. Renato scrambles up to top and they give pass points, which will leave no doubt with seconds left.

Up next, Elisabeth Clay takes on Brianna Ste-Marie in a rubber match. Clay pulls, she's looking false reap early. It takes a while, but BSM moves herself to a leg drag with a mean cross face. She goes Von Flue from top and gets the tap! How often do you see that? BSM is on the run of her career.

Up next, Ronaldo Junior takes on Felipe Costa. Crazy to see Felipe down at 185lbs, he medaled a few years ago at gi Worlds up at super-heavy. No easy first touch, he gets Ronaldo Junior. Felipe pulls, Ronaldo working from top in headquarters position. Costa wrestles up and they end up going out of bounds. Felipe pulls again, we are back to the HQ position. Ronaldo jumps onto the leg and has a deep bite on an inside heel hook, Felipe eats it and escapes! Wild exchange. Ronaldo passes the legs, he moves around and into turtle instead. Costa able to reguard and they'll be in knee shield all the way to the bell for OT. Costa pulls again, nearly sweeps from his reverse de la riva but Ronaldo scrambles back to top. Costa wrestles up, Ronaldo thinks darce but then Ronaldo clears. They reset to the middle with a 50/50 body lock and Costa jumps closed guard. Ronaldo breaks it open, now he's working again from top with his classic multidirectional passing. Ronaldo passes and scroes his 2, then falls into a side arm triangle as Costa turtles. Felipe clears, but trails with 90 seconds left. Ronaldo snaps him down again and back into that side arm triangle. Costa is tired, that weight cut may be playing a major factor. Ronaldo stays on him and attacks the anaconda. They'll scrap to the finish but Ronaldo will take it by points.

Up next, Andy Murasaki takes on Daniel Sathler. Andy pulls immediately, working to move to a kneebar with a quick inversion. Daniel tries to counter into his own submission opportunity but they end up clearing. Andy dummy sweeps his way to top and Daniel right into the legs with K guard. Back on the feet, Andy gets to a rear body lock and then hits him with a big mat return. On the follow up, Daniel uses a switch to end up on top. Things are getting scrappy, the referee brings them together to bring the match back to order. There's still plenty of hard collar ties, clashes of heads, and pushes to the face, both ways. Andy pulls again. He's working on the legs. Daniel falls back, they are in a shoot out. We're going to OT. Referee warns both men about the extras. Andy starts the OT with a pull. I thought these were ADCC rules but there's no negative, so I guess that's modified. Andy rolls under and goes to his cross ashi, he has great leg locks for "a gi guy". Andy laces up the heel and gets the tap!

Up next, Sarah Galvão takes on Cassia Moura in a match between two really impressive teenage grapplers. They are trading takedown attempts with shots to the legs but nothing crazy yet. Sarah gets in on a deeper attempt and Cassia accepts as she pulls to her closed guard. Sarah stands to open the guard, and now is doing her work from the headquarters. We're headed to overtime. Highly tactical so far, no one wanting to open up too much. We hit overtime and it's tense from the feet. Cassia creates some action with a drag and jumps to the back! She secures her body triangle, that's four points! Sarah eventually turns her back into closed guard and does get 2, but Cassia keeps the guard enough to hold on for a major points win.

Achilles rolls his way to the leg, Nathan down blocks and avoids. Haddad ducks to the back but falls off. Lots of exchanging early. Achilles rolls into the legs and spins around for a cross ashi, but Nathan passes it to 50/50 and clears. Nathan throws up a triangle but Achilles escapes quick and moves to the back, then off to the arm with a figure four grip. Haddad clears and we are off to overtime. Great action. Overtime stars. Nathan slides to the back but falls off the back again. He attempts a sweep but Achilles jumps away. He ducks to the back, gets onto the back and ends up on the bottom, but they give two for the takedown. Not sure if I saw it as 2, but it's on the board. They get back to their feet and Achilles uses an elbow pass to start a scramble where he ends up on top and evens things at 2. Haddad throws up another triangle, then transitions to a deep armbar but Achilles is such an escape artist. He ends up on top in a cradle. That's the match and it'll go to a judge's decision.

Up next, we have Alex Enriquez taking on Julia Alves. Both coming out aggressive, looking to pull down the head or pass an arm by. Julia decides to pull. Alves uses her K guard to invert around and she's got a great look at a back take but Enriquez turns back into her and they end up scrambling off the mat. Enriquez sits back into a leg but as she comes back up she nearly gets caught in a triangle! Alves is aggressive with it but Enriquez rolls her way out. We hit overtime. Alex chains a snap into a leg attack to a body lock, and they reset in the center with that rear body lock. She jumps to the back with one hook, we have two minutes as Julia tries to shake her off. They hit the mat and it's all about if Alex can sink her top hook, Alves is fighting it hard. Julia fights off both hooks, but then Enriquez in transition cinches in a rear naked choke and the hooks for the tap with less than a minute left.

We start the night with Carlos Henrique and Victor Delibero in the 155lb division. Delibero comes out and pulls right into a few nice leg entries but Henrique manages well and comes up into his own front headlock submission. He locks up the anaconda but Victor escapes that. The match, halfway through the regulation, has settled into Delibero hunting legs and Henrique pressuring and sometimes passing. Henrique steps into mount, goes to the arm and rolls to the shoulder lock but Delibero rolls free. Carlos passes again from top and continues to hunt front headlock offense, then steps back to mount and into a triangle. He switches to the armbar and Victor has to tap.
