Next Up: Jonnatas Gracie Vs. Mica Galvao

Jonnatas Gracie, defending his middleweight title against submission phenom Mica Galvão, is facing the most pivotal match of his career.

Now he faces "one of the top pound-for-pound grapplers on the planet in Mica Galvão," says Joe Gilpin.

"I believe this is a very important match for Jonnatas. I believe that this match could change his career if he's able to win it, if he's able to defend his championship belt."

Jonnatas will be defending at home: "This match is happening in Jonnatas's backyard of Costa Mesa, California, where he now trains with what many call the best team on the planet... AOJ."

But Mica is no ordinary challenger. "Coming up from 170, our champion at 170, Mica Galvão, is going to be making his 185-pound return."

Fresh off winning the BJJ Stars Grand Prix with a “highlight-reel, submission-of-the-year contender armbar in the finals,” Mica is hungry for more.

"He's the 2024 FloGrappling Male Grappler of the Year... He wants to push his greatness out further and continue to conquer new divisions."

Kit Dale Takedown On Xande Ribeiro

Kit Dale Def. Xande Ribeiro

What a match between legends Kit Dale and Xande Ribeiro. Kit Dale had multiple leg sweeps on BJJ all-timer Xande. Quite a surprising outcome in the co-main event.

Dale focused on wrestling, doing his best to not take any bait from Xande, who can submit anyone in a million different ways.

Next Up: Xande Ribeiro Vs. Kit Dale

As seen in his clear appreciation at WNO 27, Xande Ribeiro brings a legacy unmatched in the sport.

“There is nothing in this grappling world that Xande Ribeiro has not accomplished,” says Joe Gilpin.

Kit Dale may not have the same accolades, but he’s earned the community’s respect with a unique and self-made journey.

“He’s kind of a self-taught guy who went on to compete against great champions like André Galvão.”

Hulk Barbosa Def. Dory Aoun

In an exhausting match, Lucas "Hulk" Barbosa and Dory Aoun rolled, with Aoun getting out of multiple rear naked choke attempts by Hulk Barbosa.

Barbosa received two judges favors and won by decision.

Next Up: Lucas "Hulk" Barbosa Vs. Dory Aoun

Lucas "Hulk" Barbosa returns to the sport, taking on Dory Aoun in a light heavyweight bout.

“[Barbosa] didn’t like the results he got in MMA. Now he has to get back in jiu-jitsu and he has to kind of reestablish himself.”

For Dory Aoun, stepping in on short notice isn’t just a challenge—it’s the biggest shot of his career.

“For somebody to start jiu-jitsu six years ago and beat a guy as good as Hulk Barbosa—it’d be an incredible accomplishment.”

Paige Ivette Submits Kauane Ramos

Paige Ivette Def. Kauane Ramos

Paige Ivette wins the women's heavyweight match against Kauane Ramos, getting the heel hook submission.

Next Up: Paige Ivette Vs. Kauane Ramos

The women's heavyweight bout is expected to deliver fireworks—not just for their skills, but for their matched physicality and fighting spirit.

“These are big, strong, muscular, tough, powerful women… These are Amazons going out there to throw down,” says FloGrappling expert Joe Gilpin.

“They're so similar, and they're so exciting, and they're so well evenly matched that I think this is really going to produce a great fight.”

Declan Moody Submits Fellipe Andrew

Declan Moody Def. Fellipe Andrew

Declan Moody gets the heel hook to submit Fellipe Andrew in a very short, but very intense matchup.

Next Up: Declan Moody Vs. Fellipe Andrew

According to FloGrappling expert Joe Gilpin, Moodyf (B-Team) vs. Andrew (AOJ) is:

"Best guard passer on the card taking on probably the best guard on the card.

This is another great one for Declan.

He's beaten some really tough guys like ADCC medalist Felipe Costa.

Now he's taking on Fellipe Andrew, who's more of a gi guy and was the number one pound-for-pound gi guy in the world. Now he's made his way into no-gi."

Kyle Chambers Def. Victor Silvero

Chambers and Silverio went the distance as both had late opportunities at a submission, and both received judges favor. Chambers wins by decision.

Next Up: Kyle Chambers Vs. Victor Silverio

Kyle Chambers (10th Planet) takes on Victor Silverio (Gracie Barra) in the first match of the main card.

According to FloGrappling expert Joe Gilpin, keep an eye on Chambers.

"Victor Silverio is taking on Kyle Chambers. Kyle is one of the most stylish guys in jiu-jitsu.

He's incredibly different from all these guys—one of the few guys you could say actually has a truly unique style.

[Chambers] is constantly throwing up these bizarre submission attempts like gogoplatas and these very obscure leg lock combinations."
