B-Team Wins $1M Prize, Defeats New Wave At CJI 2 In Razor Thin Decision
Nick Rodriguez clinched the $1 million prize for his team at CJI. Victor Hugo made a bonus $100k with submissions. Helena Crevar beat Sarah Galvão for $100k

The long awaited B-Team vs New Wave team duel went down to the wire in the final of the Craig Jones Invitational 2, which went to five consecutive double elimination draws. But the decision — which came down to technicality — awarded $1 million to the B-Team on the heels of Nick Rodriguez' performance in his head to head match against Luke Griffith.
Update (Sept. 1): Following the controversial decision, Craig Jones announced on his Instagram that he would also award $1 million to the New Wave Team
After none of the five final matches ended in decision, the result went to the judges' scorecards, which made nothing any clearer as the three judges unanimously called it a draw, 47-47. By technicality, the duel was decided by the score of the final bout in the duel, Rodriguez vs Griffith, called a 10-8 by all three judges.
B-Team was carried at points by its wild card, Victor Hugo. Big Man Flow collected two submissions on day two, arm triangles over Fabricio Andrey and Belal Etiabari, both of Team Australasia in the semifinals. That leaves him $100,000 richer, as Craig Jones issued a $50,000 bounty on every submission during the team tournament on Sunday.
New Wave and Atos athletes also earned submission bonuses in their head to head semifinal. Luke Griffith earned $50,000 for his submission over featherweight Diego Pato. Giancarlo Bodoni won a bonus for his armbar over Ronaldo Junior. And Felipe Pena earned a bonus for his armbar win over Luke Griffith.
Helena Crevar Wins $100k With Aoki Lock Over Sarah Galvão
Helena Crevar submitted budding rival Sarah Galvão in the final of the four women bracket for $100,000 at CJI 2, applying an Aoki lock in the third round after a big takedown from the Atos representative.
Crevar had taken the advantage on the scorecards, holding off Galvão's passing pressure with leg attacks. Galvão had her best action of the night to start round three shortly before she fell into Crevar's sharp finishing leg attack.
Earlier in the women's bracket, Crevar won a decision over ADCC champion Adele Fornarino. Galvão showed moments of brilliance in her decision victory over ADCC champion Ana Carolina Vieira.
One Buggy Choke Wasn't Enough, Craig Jones Needed El Segundo vs Chael Sonnen
Craig Jones took longer to walk to the mat in his superfight against Chael Sonnen than he did to submit him. After a takedown for Sonnen, Jones launched a buggy choke, which rendered the Bad Guy unconscious.
The crowd pleaded for another round, and the athletes obliged. History repeated itself, as Sonen scored another takedown, and Jones, another sleeper buggy choke.
