What's Happening In Jiu-Jitsu
-BJJ Stars 18 went down in Sao Paulo, Brazil and airing exclusively on FloGrappling. In the main event it was Pedro Marinho beating Roosevelt Sousa to defend his open weight championship. Also on the card, Meyram Maquine, Fabricio Andrey, and Yatan Bueno scored impactful wins. Find the full replays now on FloGrappling.
-IBJJF's The Crown happened in Long Beach, CA and six champions were crowned. Most notable were all the young athletes shaking things up, with Cole Abate, Sarah Galvão, and Nolan Stuart all having upset filled runs to first place. Andy Murasaki, Erich Munis, and Gabi Pessanha all defended their Crown titles. Read more here about the results and watch the full archives here.
-WNO 31 saw a small shakeup, with Xande Ribeiro now facing Faris Benlamkadem after an injury to his original opponent Jordan Preisinger. Faris is a 2024 IBJJF World No-Gi Champion who also won a Masters world title this year. Faris, the Team Europe coach at CJI 2, will be making his WNO debut against the legendary Ribeiro.
-The entire WNO 31 card is now announced, with ten matches scheduled for December 5th in Round Rock, TX. Find the full main card here.
-Polaris announced that their upcoming Squads event in early 2026 will feature a team from Polaris and a team from WNO, both throwing down for supremacy. Stay tuned for who that will be on each team.
-F2W 300 went down in Dallas, TX over the weekend. Pretty incredible for Fight 2 Win to reach 300 events (and going strong), with a big percentage coming on FloGrappling. Some big names in action included Francisco Lo & Joao Assonitis, both who have had success at the world level - especially Lo.
-The Abu Dhabi World Pro went down with twelve champions crowned. Notable performances include Fellipe Andrew, Lucas Protasio, and Lillian Marchand.
-In celebrity BJJ belt news, Actor Ashton Kutcher was promoted to black belt by Rigan Machado in California. UFC contender Bo Nickal was promoted to purple belt by Marcel Ferreira in Happy Valley, PA.
-At the Thug Trials event, it was Helena Crevar submitting Jasmine Rocha in a matchup between pound-for-pound talents. Crevar's next match will be December 5th on WNO.
What's Coming Up In BJJ
- WNO 31: December 5th in Austin, TX, we decide the new heavyweight champion with a major main event match between Luke Griffith and Felipe Pena.
