Adam Wardzinski

Adam Wardzinski became the first European to achieve the IBJJF grand slam, winning every major tournament in 2025 after winning Worlds in 2024. He added another World title in the Pyramid in 2025 before laying down his belt to announce his competitive retirement - although he would return and make the finals of IBJJF's the Crown in November.

Diego Pato

Diego Pato established himself as a top pound-for-pound athlete by winning a Grand Slam in the super stacked feather & light-feather divisions. Pato navigated deep brackets at Euros, Pans, Brasileiros, and Worlds - while defending his WNO championship in Costa Mesa against Keith Krikorian in his first headlining match. Pato was part of two major team events as well, representing Kasai at AIGA and Team Atos as a wildcard for CJI 2.

Erich Munis

Erich ends the year as the undisputed king of gi jiu-jitsu after another successful season which saw him capture gold at Worlds, The Crown, Brasileiros, and more with an undefeated record through 2025. Erich also added a major win to his already impressive resume with a 8-2 victory against Adam Wardzinski at BJJ Stars.

Nick Rodriguez

Nick is our lone no-gi specialist on the list and he had an epic 2025, with two major events at the forefront. In a battle of ADCC vs CJI Champions at WNO 27, Nick dominated the final stretch of the match with nearly 10 minutes in mount in a display of power and technique. At CJI 2, 'The Million Dollar Grappler' came in clutch when he delivered a 10-8 round for his team in the final match of the event to secure the criteria for the $1 million victory.

Roosevelt Sousa

Roosevelt had an incredible 2025 and is the only black belt adult male to win World gold in gi and no-gi. He was the most active nominee this year, with 33 matches to his credit across IBJJF, WNO, BJJ Stars, and more. He also showed some truly great jiu-jitsu, with smooth transitions that very few grapplers his size have ever been capable of.

Tainan Dalpra

Tainan returned to form this year, winning all four IBJJF Grand Slam events with 15 wins and submission victories in two-thirds of his matches. Tainan fell short of world titles in his two previous seasons but would not be denied at the Pyramid in 2025, winning gold for the first time since 2022. He took the gi off in February for a match against 10th Planet's Rene Sousa, which he won by decision using his improved wrestling.
