Former UFC Middleweight World Title challenger Demian Maia competed at 2007 ADCC Worlds.

The championship was in May 2007, while Maia made his UFC debut in October of the same year. He finished with gold at the 88kg division, defeating Flavio Almeida to win the division.

He’s largely considered one of the best submission artists in UFC history, a testament to his start in BJJ and his competitions in the ADCC.
