The 2022 ADCC World Championships were held at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Sept. 17–18, 2022.

Kade Ruotolo Became The Youngest Ever ADCC Champ

At just 19 years old, Kade Ruotolo made history at the 2022 ADCC World Championships, becoming the youngest champion in the event's history. Ruotolo captured gold in the 77kg division, submitting Mica Galvao in the final. The victory was one of the most notable moments of the tournament, adding another major milestone to Ruotolo's young career. His historic performance cemented him as one of the sport's rising stars.

Yuri Simoes Rules The Absolute

Yuri Simoes overcame a rocky start to his 2022 ADCC campaign to rule the Absolute division. After losing to Nicholas Meregali in the -99kg quarterfinals, Simoes bounced back by defeating four ADCC medalists in the open-weight bracket, including Lachlan Giles, Nick Rodriguez, Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu and Meregali in the final. Along the way, he avenged losses to both Rodriguez and Meregali. The victory made Simoes a three-time ADCC champion in three different weight categories.
