How Is Seeding Determined At The 2026 ADCC World Championship?

Men’s brackets feature 16 seeds, while women’s brackets feature 8 seeds in their respective divisions. There’s a variety of factors that go into play when ADCC decides how athletes are going to be seeded.

Returning medalists are going to be seeded higher, with division champions who return to competition likely to be placed in the top seed or near it.

Trial results also play a significant factor in determining seeding. If one trial competition is considered a more difficult path than another, that winner will likely be given more grace in the seeding process.
