The ADCC rookie from Pedigo Submission Fighting defeated veteran Oliver Taza in the Round of 16 at 77kg, advancing to the quarterfinals after a strong performance against one of the division's established competitors.
Bornemann Rises To The Occasion
The matchup was considered one of the most intriguing first-round contests in the 77kg bracket following the ADCC bracket reveal.
The opening minutes featured a series of scrambles as both competitors battled for position. As the match progressed, Bornemann's pace began to take over.
His trademark work rate helped create separation late in the contest, and he secured a guard pass in the final minute to strengthen his position and earn the victory.
