Ana Carolina Vieira outlasted upstart Sarah Galvao in the -65kg bracket to win an ADCC World Championship in double overtime on Sept. 13 in Krakow, Poland.

On a day that saw the youngest ADCC women’s champion ever, Helena Crevar, and the youngest women’s medalist ever, Vieira beat 20-year-old Galvao with a submission minutes into the second overtime period.

The 32-year-old veteran, five-time IBJJF World Champion and defending -65kg champion became the first repeat women’s champion since Gabi Garcia won in 2017 and 2019 in the same division.
