Kennedy Maciel won his first ever title at the 2026 ADCC World Championship, submitting Gavin Corbe in overtime with an armbar to win the -66kg division on Sept. 13 in Krakow, Poland.
Maciel entered the tournament as the No. 13 seed, but defeated tournament favorite Diego "Pato" Oliveira and submitted a red-hot Corbe to become the unexpected champion in his first Final appearance since 2019.

Kennedy Maciel And Rubens Charles Become First Father-Son Champion Duo
Kennedy Maciel is the son of ADCC and BJJ legend Rubens 'Cobrinha' Charles, who was a five-time ADCC medalist and three-time gold medalist.
Maciel entered the tournament in 2019 as a late replacement for his father, making a name for himself with a silver medal and paving the way for his future.
Six years later, Maciel brought home the gold medal, marking the first father-son duo to win gold medals in ADCC Worlds history.
