Yuri Simoes defeated Kaynan Duarte in overtime in the Superfight at the 2026 ADCC World Championship in a match that ended with a shoulder injury for Duarte.
The fight was set on a slow pace before picking up as overtime started. As Simoes scrambled, Duarte appeared to sustain an injury to his shoulder, ending the fight and leading to giving Simoes his first-ever Superfight championship.

Simoes will go on to face the winner of the Absolute Division in the 2028 ADCC World Championship in the Superfight.
Kaynan Duarte vs. Yuri Simoes Ends With An Injury
It’s never a good thing when a fight is ended due to injury, and Duarte’s injury took the fans away from a match that was picking up momentum.
With the win, however, Simoes will be set to compete in three consecutive Superfights. He also joins an elite group of only eight ADCC competitors to win four titles.
